Whelm is an open world, physics playground. Save animals. Tidy up beaches. Restore strange machines. Grow plants and, more importantly, your collection of hats.
Due to a sudden change in personal circumstances the first build is in a very bare-bones state. I highly recommend waiting until January before purchasing/playing or you will be underwhelmed. The game world is extremely empty right now. Think Early Early Access. I will be publishing updates every 1-2 days, so expect a lot to change this month.
There are no save files during December 2025. Bear with me until the first major update in January.

Whelm is about a young penguin, washed up on a mysterious island. Once a thriving sanctuary, it has fallen into disrepair. Rescue animals, tidy up the island and repair machines.
No missions or levelling up. This is a game about exploration and experimentation. Go at your own pace. Use the monocular to scan the terrain or just pick a direction and go. Getting there is half the fun. Swim, run, slide, glide or even launch yourself from a cannon.
If you see a fish on land, get the poor thing back to the ocean. Some methods are more efficient, but not so... gentle. It's your choice.
Junk can be found scattered around the island. Gather up any garbage you see and carry it to a recycling machine. If you get sick of carrying them one by one there are other ways, but you'll have to figure that out for yourself.
You'll find useful machines around the island, but they may be broken or out of power. Batteries can be found or bought from vending machines. If a device still doesn't work, try shouting at it.
Finalise core mechanics, significant updates and rearranging. Enable the save system.
This is when the majority of content will be added. It's also the best time to give feedback.
