Belowdown for Shadowdark RPG
By Menagerie Press
It is said that a hole runs straight to blackest Hell. The Belowdown is a 19-level catacomb-skein of old ruins, misbegotten terrors, dark dwarf reliquaries, and shuddering magic. Adventurers must sharpen their blades to find riches--or death.
The artist Dyson Logos released a series of 23 compact dungeon maps with a shared theme: each connected by a central shaft, known as "Iseldec's Drop." Menagerie Press adopted the first 19 of these maps, placing an entrance to the Utter Below at the bottom--the very heart of the Shadowdark, if such a thing can be said to exist.
Within these depths lie forgotten civilizations, eldritch runes, bestial mutants serving brassine masters, serpent-people waiting for the End Times, necro-wizards preparing their slimy undead armies, and countless other horrors.
This megadungeon features:
19 interconnected levels, each with black-and-white player and gm maps. - Terse, evocative player-facing room descriptions.
- Factions such as brass automatons, serpent-folk awaiting the world's end, ooze-worshipping toad-men, drow exterminators, and mutant servitors.
- Drop-in play design, so the Belowdown can be added to almost any campaign with little fuss.
