It somewhat resembles Monster Battles, but in a single-player format. I fully completed the first three grimoires, and it’s really fun to discover new combinations and test them on enemies. I’ll happily play through the new grimoires when I have time. A few notes: the alchemy grimoire is way too easy, the dragon needs a nerf. And the achievement 'The Truth of Catalyst' is painfully tedious — I got 13 clean wins and unlocked all combos at around 50 catalyst uses, after that it’s just a grind. The UI is a bit janky, but it doesn’t get in the way at all. The art and style are great; the only thing is that the guys with scythes should be redrawn, they’re too easy to confuse with each other. I’m a game developer myself, and projects like this really inspire me to create my own game.
