209-500 Series operated on the Keihin-Tōhoku/Negishi Line, Keiyō Line, local trains on the Chūō/Sōbu Line, and the Musashino Line. Characterized by a wider body than the original 209 Series, it was designed to increase transport capacity. Enjoy operating 209-500 Series.
209 Series was introduced in 1993 as JR EAST's next-generation commuter train. It entered service as a mass-produced model following the development of the prototype 901 Series. Fundamental revisions were made to the vehicle's body, bogies, main circuit system, and other core components, establishing it as the foundation for JR EAST's current commuter and suburban trains. The interior features barrier-free design considerations, including wider seats, partitioning using poles that also serve as handrails, designated wheelchair spaces, LED station name displays above doors, and chime systems to signal door operation.
209-500 Series operated on the Keihin-Tōhoku/Negishi Line, Keiyō Line, local trains on the Chūō/Sōbu Line, and the Musashino Line. Characterized by a wider body than the original 209 Series, it was designed to increase transport capacity. Primarily due to replacing aging stock and the introduction of the E233 Series, it saw rapid deployment across various commuter lines. They remain active on the Keiyō and Musashino Lines today. Specifically, only the Keyo 34 formation operates on the Keiyō Line, and this DLC captures that formation at the JR EAST Keiyo Rolling Stock Depot. With only 170 cars manufactured, their rarity makes them popular among railway enthusiasts.
Enjoy operating this versatile train that served on numerous routes.
