Immenstadt – Oberstdorf | Scenic Alpine Branch Line
Experience one of Bavaria’s most charming railway routes in Trainz!
The historic Immenstadt–Oberstdorf line branches off the Lindau–Kempten railway and winds its way through the stunning Allgäu region, passing Blaichach, Sonthofen, Altstädten, Fischen, and Langenwang before reaching the alpine destination of Oberstdorf.
Built in 1873 as a so-called Vizinalbahn, this line was originally designed to connect rural communities—but today it plays a vital role in tourism and even hosts long-distance services. Despite its non-electrified nature, the route remains lively and authentic.
Take control and enjoy relaxed journeys through breathtaking alpine foothills, transporting commuters and tourists alike through one of Germany’s most picturesque landscapes.
